IT Consulting

Decisions your board can sign off — costed, sequenced and vendor-neutral.

For boards and leadership teams deciding what to build, buy or retire. We assess your current technology estate, quantify risk and cost, and deliver a prioritised, costed roadmap you can approve — with the option of our engineering teams executing it, or simply governing whoever does.

Advice from people who deliver

Our consultants are backed by engineers who run production platforms — recommendations are buildable, not theoretical.

Genuinely vendor-neutral

We recommend platforms we neither build nor resell whenever that is the right answer, and say so in writing.

Conglomerate experience

Advisory across Kapil Group businesses in fintech, education, real estate, solar and media.

Optional execution

Take the roadmap to any vendor, or have our teams deliver it under the same governance.

Capabilities in detail

What our it consulting actually covers

Each capability below is scoped, priced and delivered as a discrete workstream. Commission one, or run the full programme with a single delivery lead.

01

Technology & Application Assessment

Know exactly what you own, what it costs and what it risks

We inventory every application, integration, licence and hosting contract, interview the teams that use them, and score each system on business value, technical health, security exposure and annual cost. Leadership receives a single view of the estate with a keep / improve / replace / retire recommendation per system.

Portfolio scoringCost auditRisk register
  • Application portfolio inventory with owners, users, cost and dependencies
  • Technical health and security posture scoring per system
  • Licence, hosting and subscription cost audit with savings opportunities
  • Shadow-IT and single-point-of-failure identification
  • Keep / improve / replace / retire recommendation with rationale
02

Solution & Integration Architecture

A blueprint your vendors and your team can build against

Architecture that survives contact with delivery: target-state diagrams, integration patterns, data ownership rules, non-functional requirements and a build-versus-buy analysis for each capability — written so procurement, your internal team and any external vendor are all working from the same document.

Architecture decision recordsAPI standardsData modelling
  • Target-state architecture with clear system boundaries and data ownership
  • Integration patterns, API standards and master-data rules
  • Non-functional requirements: availability, performance, security, retention
  • Build vs buy vs customise analysis per capability with cost ranges
  • Reference implementation guidance and architecture decision records
03

Digital Transformation Roadmap

Sequenced by value and risk, costed for the board

We convert findings into a 12–24 month roadmap: initiatives sequenced by business value, dependency and risk, each with scope, cost range, resourcing, expected benefit and a measurable success metric — in a format your board can approve and your CFO can budget.

  • Initiative backlog scored on value, effort, risk and dependency
  • Quarter-by-quarter sequencing with capacity and budget modelling
  • Business case and ROI estimate per initiative
  • Change-management, training and adoption plan
  • Board-ready summary deck plus the detailed working document
04

Cloud Strategy & Cost Optimisation

Migrate what should move, and stop overpaying for the rest

On-premise to cloud assessment, landing-zone design, migration waves and a cost model you can defend. For companies already on AWS, we run a FinOps review that typically identifies significant recurring savings through right-sizing, reserved capacity, storage tiering and environment scheduling.

AWSLanding zoneFinOpsDR planning
  • Workload assessment and migration-pattern selection per application
  • AWS landing zone, account structure, network and security baseline
  • Migration waves with rollback plans and business-continuity checks
  • FinOps review — right-sizing, reservations, storage tiering, idle shutdown
  • Disaster recovery, RPO/RTO definition and tested restore procedures
05

Vendor Evaluation & RFP Support

Independent scoring, including of platforms we don't sell

We write the requirement specification, shortlist vendors, script and run demos against your real scenarios, score responses on a weighted matrix, and review commercial terms and SLAs — and we say clearly when a product we do not build is the right answer for you.

  • Requirement specification and weighted evaluation matrix
  • Vendor longlist, shortlist and scripted scenario-based demos
  • Reference checks, technical due diligence and security review
  • Commercial, SLA, exit-clause and data-ownership review
  • Negotiation support and a documented recommendation to the board
06

IT Governance & Delivery Assurance

Keep programmes honest after the contract is signed

For programmes running with internal teams or third-party vendors, we provide independent assurance: milestone and quality review, risk register, code and security audits, and steering-committee reporting that tells leadership the real status rather than the comfortable one.

Delivery assuranceCode auditRisk register
  • Independent milestone, scope and quality review against contract
  • Code quality, security and architecture audits of vendor deliverables
  • Risk and issue register with escalation thresholds
  • Steering-committee reporting pack and cadence
  • Vendor performance scorecards and remediation plans

FAQ

IT Consulting questions procurement teams ask

Straight answers on timelines, ownership, commercials and technology choices.

Are your recommendations really vendor-neutral?+

Yes. We routinely recommend third-party platforms we do not build or resell. Where our own products are a genuine fit, we declare the interest explicitly and score them on the same matrix as every alternative.

Can you execute the roadmap you produce?+

Optionally. Many clients use our advisory to decide and then run a competitive tender; others award delivery to our engineering teams under the governance we defined. Both are fine.

How long does an assessment take?+

Typically 3–5 weeks for a mid-sized estate, including interviews, system review, cost audit and the roadmap presentation to leadership.

Do you support IT budget planning?+

Yes. Roadmaps are delivered with cost ranges, phasing and business cases in a format built for annual budget and board approval cycles.
